Children in Year 6 at Banstead Prep have consistently inspired pride and awe with their spectacular achievements. Each year they move onto an outstanding range of senior schools, since we work with children and parents to identify achievable yet aspirational schools that are right for each child.

This year, whist being notable for the additional pressures on Year 6 children, who have shown adaptability and courage in spades, is no exception.  We are incredibly proud of the children who have successfully navigated challenging selective application processes and of the list of brilliant schools from which they have received offers of places for Year 7 in September.

Once again, our talented children attracted prestigious scholarships and awards from highly selective schools with five of the children being offered a total of eight awards.  Caterham School have offered a Drama Scholarship for Logan, a Music Scholarship for Nathan, a Performing Arts Scholarship for Finley and both the Curling Academic Scholarship and the Headteacher’s Award for James.  Nathan was also offered a Music Scholarship at City of London Freemen’s School and a combined Academic and Music Scholarship from Reigate Grammar School and Maddy received a Combined Academic and Headmaster’s Art Scholarship from Reigate Grammar School.

The children received a total of 35 offers of places from 13 different selective independent senior schools.  This included six offers (five scholarships) from Caterham School, five offers to join Dunottar School, four places (two with scholarship awards) for Reigate Grammar School and three offers (one with a scholarship) to City of London Freeman’s School.  There were multiple places offered to BPS children at St John’s School, Leatherhead, Sutton High School, Box Hill, Epsom College and Worth School, and children also obtained offers from Downsend School, Trinity School, Whitgift School and Kingswood House.

Jon Chesworth, Headteacher found it an incredible privilege to receive feedback from senior schools: “Every school has spoken about how impressive BPS children have shown themselves to be and how well they have conducted themselves, particularly during interviews and activities Our children are our greatest advocates, and we are immensely proud of them all.  I am delighted that it is looking likely that we will have a chance to celebrate them, and everything they have achieved during their time at BPS, in the months ahead.
