Our vision is to be a school that challenges, develops and nurtures every child, where every child is free to be themselves. We constantly strive to change and to improve, to deliver a modern education that prepares our children for an exciting future, encouraging them to aim high and dream big.
The Life Skills curriculum at Banstead Prep provides children with an opportunity to practise and develop important, transferable life skills. These directly relate to the BPS Learner Powers: Collaboration, Leadership, Independence, Curiosity, Adaptability, Communication, Resilience, and Pride. Through a carefully curated range of exciting lessons and activities, children in Years 3 – 6 develop their ‘learner powers’; these include but are not limited to, design challenges, critical thinking activities, debates, money skills, first aid, and cookery.

Four of our Year 5 children headed to @EpsomCollege to take on their annual Maths Challenge — and they absolutely did us proud!
Mr Jeens, our Maths Lead, was thrilled with their teamwork and dedication. They tackled team, logic and relay rounds — and even scored full marks in the logic round.
The trophy may not have come home this time, but the effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship were outstanding. A huge well done to our fabulous four — and a big thank you to Epsom College for hosting such a fantastic event!

Year 6 had an inspiring writing workshop with celebrated children’s author Catherine Barr, whose 40+ non‑fiction books explore animals, the environment and how we can protect the natural world.
Catherine shared her writing journey — from researching incredible animal facts to turning them into published books — and the children were hooked. They then dived into researching our BPS learner power animals, exploring how each one survives in the wild, before creating their own brilliant non‑fiction narratives.
Catherine was blown away by the children`s creativity and the quality of their writing. Who knows… maybe a BPS‑authored book celebrating our learner power animals is on the horizon! 🐾📚
