Year 4 are still buzzing from their action-packed trip to Hindleap Warren where they made memories for life at a three-day residential with their classmates. They proved themselves to be resilient in the face of challenge, adaptable to new situations and great fun to be with!

Hindleap Warren is an outdoor activity centre set in 300 acres of land near Ashdown Forest. Children are encouraged to move out of their comfort zones and into a stretch zone as they brave activities like the zip-wire, climbing wall and obstacle course – with pools of muddy water thrown in for good measure!

Their communication skills were put to the test when it came to team challenges and shelter building, with their supportive spirit continuing into the night as they navigated the woods with torches to toast marshmallows and sing around a campfire.

With many fears overcome and talents accomplished, the children returned to school on an absolute high, bursting to tell their parents and peers all about their adventure…

“I’m like Robin Hood now when it comes to archery!”

“My parents won’t believe me when I say I had to actually make my own bed, duvet cover and all!”

“Sleeping away from home and without my parents was scary at first, but I loved it!”

“I was free to be myself when choosing activities and playing in the muddy water.”

It is safe to say a fantastic time was had by children and teachers alike – a trip to remember for sure!
