Earlier this year a quest began to find some intrepid Banstead Prep parents to become our first-ever parent governors. The wait is over and with immense pleasure we can reveal the BPS Local Governing Body (LGB) have appointed Gwun Olley and Andy Davies as parent governors.   A further appointment was also confirmed for Fiona Robertson, who joins the LGB with responsibility for Charity and Alumni. A big welcome to all three, and we look forward to working with them on our mission to deliver a modern education that prepares our children for an exciting future, encouraging them to aim high and dream big.

Following advertisement of the search for our inaugural parent governors, the LGB were delighted to receive 10 expressions of interest.  After a rigorous process, which involved a written application and in person interview with Mark Boxall, Chair of the LGB and Jon Chesworth, Headteacher, it was decided to make three recommendations to the full board.  They formally approved the candidates at their meeting on 17 November 2022. Andy will take on additional responsibilities for marketing and admissions, plus community, Gwun for communications and pupil & parental voice.

Mark Boxall, LGB Chair said

“We are deligthed to have been able to appoint such capable people into these new roles who can offer wider and deeper challenge and support to the school as it continues to grow and excel.”

Jon Chesworth, Headteacher is delighted with the appointments:

“This is an important moment in the history of our school and I am immensely grateful to have such a supportive and proactive parent body to help us shape the future of Banstead Prep.”
