Congratulations to Peter, who entered Dunottar School‘s Baking Competition for students in Year 5 and was highly commended for his Snowman Cake entry!
Peter’s family found out about the competition having subscribed to the termly Dunottar Newsletter, and Peter was inspired to have a go. He learned a lot from the experience, with support from his Nannie Lynn, the family’s chief baker. Peter said “It was interesting to find out how icing is actually made, and how sweet I could make it!”
Mrs French, Head of Food and Nutrition at Dunottar School said that they had received a lot of entries for the competition: “the quality of all of them was truly exceptional; it really brightened up my beginning of term. We were delighted to award Peter a Highly Commended Certificate and a small prize for his wonderful entry. I hope he enjoyed baking it – and eating it too!”
Peter also enjoys baking in his Cookery lessons at Banstead Prep, with Queen Drop biscuits being a recent favourite recipe.
