As an enrichment topic for the last few weeks of term, Year 4 are investigating coral reefs. Children are using knowledge gained earlier in the year, to study this ecosystem and the plants and animals that live there. STEM Ambassador Angus Clark from Imperial College London, came to talk to Year 4 about reef scientists and how they survey coral reefs.

The children learnt about the difficulties of working underwater and learnt some examples of sign language that the divers use. Then they went on a virtual underwater experience and discovered the Agincourt Reef using their iPads. Mr Clark also showed some useful scuba equipment to the children and they had a chance to try it on.
