Children in Years 3-6 were challenged to take the opening motif (famous first eight notes) of Beethoven’s 5th symphony and turn it into their own, completely different piece of music.

Mrs Lane, our Music Leader found it difficult to choose only 4 winners because she received many wonderful entries.
Congratulations to all children in Years 3-6 for their great performances!

Devin was chosen in Year 3, Mrs Lane said “he used layers of ostinati (repeated patterns) to create his excellent piece”.

Harry was chosen in Year 3, Mrs Lane felt “his piano composition was brilliantly structured”.

Alex was chosen in Year 5, Mrs Lane found “his hauntingly beautiful violin piece really impressive”.

Jessica was chosen in Year 6, Mrs Lane said “she used layers of ostinati (repeated patterns) excellently as well”.
