Anti-bullying week always has high importance in Banstead Prep’s autumn term calendar. Usually, we come together for assemblies and activities within the school community to celebrate diversity and spread kindness. This year we have been united virtually, to support the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s campaign ‘United Against Bullying’.

The Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders set activities for all year groups to participate in their PSHCEE lessons. Anti-bullying week was incorporated into our Kindness Week therefore the Wellbeing Leaders asked every class to make smiley faces with quotes and pictures that will be displayed around the school. We are looking forward to seeing the school covered with happy faces. Surely it will remind us all that kindness is a very simple act that can make a big difference.

We also participated in Odd Socks Day  with a special Virtual Assembly from Andy and the Odd Socks. Odd Socks Day provided a great opportunity to talk about how everyone is unique and raise awareness of bullying. The children had interesting discussions with their teachers and shared great ideas about prevent bullying. We were also lucky enough to be included in Andy and the Odd Socks’ new music video for the song ‘The Kids Are United’, released to support Anti-bullying week.
