It was a very different ‘back to school’ yesterday for the children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.  Whilst Banstead Prep School has been open throughout the lockdown for the children of key worker parents, we were thrilled to be able to welcome back more of the children and staff and hear the sound of children playing outside on a sunny day.

Children are in ‘pods’ of up to 15 children and two adults, following a topic based creative curriculum with lots of outside lessons, playtime, PE and face to face interaction with a teacher, all very welcome after ten weeks at home.  Millie, in Year 6, was so excited to come to school she told her mother ‘It’s like Christmas!’ and Sophie, in Reception, said: “I’m having the best day back at school.”

Mrs Sarah Nunn, Deputy Head said, “We’ve all been working hard, planning to make sure it’s a positive experience for the children.   It was a great first day and the children have all been brilliant.  They are all so happy to be playing with other children again.”
