Reception children were visited this week by real-life air stewards, who told them all about working for an airline as part of the children’s ‘All around the world’ topic.

Children learnt about cabin crew duties like serving drinks and snacks to passengers, giving assistance and first aid. They also discussed the importance of safety and service on an aeroplane.  The children acknowledged some challenges of the job and they were eager to find out: ‘Do you get presents from Santa when you have to work at Christmas?’

Children also enjoyed trying on the different accessories that you might receive on a long flight, such as socks and sleeping masks. Two lucky children had the chance to wear the visitors’ uniform. Lastly, children practised hand signals such as pointing out the emergency exits.

After the visit, children were excited to use their new knowledge in their role play area, the International Airport.
