Yesterday, some of our Year 6 students took part in United Learning’s Student Leadership Programme which is run in partnership with the charity ‘WE’.

WE (formerly called Free the Children) are a charity who encourage young people to lead social action projects and improve the world around them. They are a global organisation, but their UK site is here: https://www.we.org/en-GB/ and their schools’ page is here: https://www.we.org/en-GB/our-work/we-schools/

The purpose of the programme to inspire students to engage in social action and lead a project in school to improve the lives of others. The conference provided the children with the opportunity to explore the skills, techniques and confidence to needed to lead and deliver such an important project.

As you can see from the photographs, it took a lot of collaboration and democracy to whittle down their ideas but keep your eyes peeled for their fundraising ideas coming soon next term!
