As announced in June, BPS has been accepted on to the Ofsted recognised Primary Science Quality Mark Programme (PSQM). This award scheme runs for a year, and is helping us to further develop the quality of teaching and learning at BPS.

As part of the PSQM award, Mr. Tunnell has been encouraging Year 3 and Year 4 to undertake science investigations at home. The children approached this with enthusiasm, and many of them completed their projects straight away. Kaiyan’s (Year 3) mum told us: ‘Kaiyan came home extremely excited about his science homework and couldn’t wait to get started’

As evidence, the children took pictures and presented their experiments in front of their class. Krish (Year 4) even recorded a video explaining his experiment.  We’re showcasing this, and photos of the other home experiments, on our Twitter feed this week twitter.com/BansteadPrep.

If you’d like to try this at home, there are some great ideas for experiments on the DKfindout website
