We participated in Anti-Bullying week with our own ‘It’s Cool to be Kind Week’ at BPS, promoting kindness with the children, staff and parents.  We focused on showing kindness to each other and taking time to point these acts out, even if it was something simple like giving someone a hug or holding the door.

Mrs. Windett recorded these kind acts on tiles to build up a kindness wall display that we will keep growing until the end of the term. We can’t wait to see the whole school covered with kindness!  We also shared random acts of kindness carried out by children at home on our @BPS_Wellbeing Twitter feed.

Some of the children went above and beyond,  participating in a ‘Secret Angel’ challenge. In this challenge, each child picked a name out of a hat and became that person’s Secret Angel.  They spent the week being extra nice to their nominated person without revealing that person’s name. As a positive side-effect, the children ended up being nice to everyone, to disguise their real assignment!

On Thursday, Year 3&4 organised a Charity Event ‘Wear Blue/Funky Hair Day’ in aid of Water Aid and collected donations at the school gate for the chosen charity, raising £319.83. Thank you for your generous donations!

Finally, on Friday we brought the week to a close with Odd Socks Day, everyone wearing odd socks to remind us that we are all unique and it’s OK to be different.
