Just six weeks into the start of the school year the children delivered thought provoking and polished performances for parents in our Harvest Festival Celebrations, the final fundraising event for last year’s chosen charity, WaterAidUK.

A lovely introduction to the Pre-Prep service by Year 2 children was followed by Year 1 performing poetry, wonderful singing and dancing with umbrellas by Reception, (check out our Instagram stories to see it!) and harvest songs performed by each year group. Miss Ellis shared a story that illustrated how WaterAid providing clean water to communities in developing countries like Malawai helps reduce disease and ensure that children don’t miss out on education.

The Year 6 Arts Leaders welcomed families to the Prep Harvest celebration, who enjoyed uplifting music from the Years 3 – 6 choir as well as water themed dance from Year 3, performance poetry from Year 4 and Year 6, and more stories of how WaterAid helps communities by providing clean water and toilets from Year 5.  After a congregational rendition of ‘We Plough the Fields and Scatter’, year group representatives presented harvest gifts on behalf of all of the children and the Year 6 Ambassadors provided a chance to reflect on how fortunate we are with plenty of food, clean water and hygienic facilities.  The occasion was closed with our school song, ‘Best in Me’.

Thank you for your food donations, which we are gifting to the Epsom and Ewell Food Bank and for your financial contributions to WaterAid.
