Each Hot Choc Friday a member of the Senior Leadership Team invites a learner from each year group who has gone ‘above and beyond’ during the week to share a hot drink and a chat together. It’s an opportunity to spend time with members of the school who consistently demonstrate our values and whose behaviour is an exemplar to others.
Hot Choc Friday is an initiative that has had great success in other schools. We have introduced it at Banstead Prep School alongside the other ways in which we recognise the efforts of the children to celebrate those that have demonstrated their best manners, persevered even when they thought they couldn’t do it and shown empathy to a friend in need. Our second #HotChocFri awards were announced in assembly this morning and the beaming faces of those invited to take part showed us all just how much it means to the children when their efforts are noticed.
