National Keep Kids Creative Week was created by Bruce Van Patter in the fall of 2003. He is an illustrator and author who specializes in inspiring kids to use their ideas. He created this event to encourage kids.

Nowadays children can fill their creative lives with instant enjoyment such as television and video/online games and it can be a concern that children do not have the opportunities to be creative that they once had.  The aim of National Keep Kids Creative Week is to help parents and teachers focus on the imaginations of kids.  We asked Matt Ayling, Art Subject Leader at Banstead Prep School, what opportunities the children at BPS have to be creative.

The children can use their creativity not just in Art lessons and clubs but in their everyday activities, including Life Skills, Cookery and Forest School as well as Drama and English lessons.
