Millie, in Year 6, has returned to school looking quite different this term!  During the summer holidays she cut 14 inches (35.5cm) off her long hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Millie said: “I’ve been inspired by two friends who previously donated their hair to the Little Princess Trust, and I decided to donate too.  Thank you very much to everyone who has sponsored me.”

From receiving hair donations at their office, through to fitting and styling a bespoke wig, it costs the charity at least £550 to provide a real-hair wig free-of-charge, to wig recipients.    The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers and receives no formal funding, so Millie has also raised money for the charity by asking for sponsorship.  You can help Millie fundraise by donating on www.justgiving.com/fundraising/millieforster All contributions, however small, would be greatly appreciated, and help Millie reach her target of paying for two real hair wigs.
