On Wednesday 22nd May Year 2 had a fabulous day out at Kew Gardens; we were very grateful for the beautiful weather.

The children participated in a workshop where they used microscopes to study the different parts of a flower and used magnifying glasses to study the different parts of a seed. They discussed seed dispersal and pollination, studying different plants and flowers up close. Both classes enjoyed pretending to be squirrels hiding their acorns for the winter. We then collected a variety of petals, seeds and leaves from the ground and created a picture.

We all enjoyed our lunch where we were joined by a gaggle of geese and their goslings – they were rather interested in our sandwiches!
