Year One enjoyed a trip to The Brighton Toy Museum last week. All were pleased to see the snow held off to ensure we could make it there and back safely!

Upon arrival Mrs Doyle our trip leader sat us in groups and passed around a variety of old toys to play with. The teddy bears were surprisingly heavy – inside they were stuffed with shredded paper. Year One agreed they much prefer their squishy cuddly bears today! The different toys were made of all sorts of materials which we discussed at length, after which the children chose their favourite toy to make a detailed drawing. The trip came to a close with a fabulous old-style puppet show. String puppets were used by the Museum leaders to create a super story.
