It was great to see all pupils in Years 3-6 taking part in their House Swimming Galas this week. Years 5-6 took to the water first on Monday and recored some exceptionally quick times in all of the main strokes. All pupils scored points for their House and resulted in a close contest. The afternoon finished with some exciting Medley relays and the result was all in the balance. Helmsdale clinched the overall victory for Years 5&6 with a small margin from Grappenhall.

The following day Year 3&4 drew a big crowd of spectators and performed fantastically well. Despite a little apprehension from some, all pupils, again took part in a number of individual races and relays. They all swam with great team spirit and also recorded some exciting school records. We look forward to these being the times to beat next year! This time Grappenhall and Ashdown battled it out for first and second place. Ashdown secured a comfortable victory when winning two of final relay events.

Well done everyone! We look forward to congratulating everyone's efforts and the winners from each heat in one of our forthcoming Celebration Assemblies. A special mention though for Alex Young, Jack Harper, Amie, Olivia, Surin and Izzy who won all of their individual races.
