In our very own version of the BBC’s Back in Time for School, the children in Year 5 spent an afternoon experiencing what life was like in a Victorian classroom.

They had lessons in the 3Rs, Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic.  The children sang from the hymn book as Madame Parsons taught them to sing ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’.   The boys had a science lesson and the girls learnt how to sew. At breaktime, the girls practiced their skipping whilst the boys played dominoes.  The children thought that the lessons were very repetitive and that the teachers were too strict!
