What is Wellbeing?
Wellbeing means feeling good and being happy. It’s not just about how our bodies feel, but also how our minds feel. When we are well, we can enjoy our lives more and be better friends, family members, and learners. Just like when you build a strong wall using bricks, your wellbeing is built from many things like your thoughts, feelings and activities.
How can Crafts Help Our Wellbeing?
Crafting is a fun and creative way to take care of our wellbeing! When we make something with our hands, it can help us feel happy and proud. Crafting encourages us to express our feelings, think about nice memories, and connect with others. It’s like planting a seed in a garden – with care and time, it can grow into something special.
Christmas Craft Ideas for Everyone
Here are some fun Christmas craft ideas that we have thought of that you can try. Each one can help your wellbeing in different ways!
1. Making Christmas Cards
Sending cards to friends and family can make both you and the person receiving the card feel good.
You can use coloured paper, stickers, and drawings to make your cards super special. Think about happy memories you have with the person you’re making a card for and include those in your design.
2. Paper Plate Christmas Wreaths
You can use paper plates to create festive wreaths. Paint or decorate the plates with green tissue paper and embellish them with pompoms, ribbons, and glitter.
3. Creating a Christmas Story Jar
This craft lets you focus on happy memories during Christmas each year.
Take a jar and write down fun memories, traditions, or things you’re grateful for on pieces of paper. Every year, you can read them together as a family, reminding you of the wonderful times you’ve had. You can decorate the jar too!

Putting Wellbeing into Practice
To make your crafts even more meaningful, you can take time to think while you create. Ask yourself questions like:
- How does this make me feel?
- What memories do I have related to this craft?
- How can I share this with someone I care about?
Remember, crafting is not just about making pretty things. It’s also about helping our minds and hearts feel good. This Christmas, let’s get creative and support our wellbeing while having lots of fun together!
