Celebrating Sport, Creativity, and Community – Head’s Desk (06 Feb 2026)

We enjoyed another busy week at BPS with lots happening around the school. Despite the continued “seasonal” weather, the sports department have been busy with lots of matches, and we were delighted to host several Hockey festivals this week welcoming schools to enjoy our fantastic astro facilities. I was lucky enough to chauffeur the Year 5 and 6 girls to a hockey fixture last week, and I was incredibly impressed with the standard of their play, but also how they all conducted themselves on and off the pitch. Miss Hooper, Miss Carter, and I were all very proud of our girls. It was also wonderful to see that they were all unbeaten!

On the music front, Year 3 entertained us with superb performances during their Spring Concert.  Years 1 and 2 are working hard for their production next month.  Last Friday saw Year 6 take to the stage for the auditions for this summer’s blockbuster “Shrek” and as always, they demonstrated wonderful ability and confidence and equal amounts of bravery! Not an easy task casting from such a strong cohort!

Today the Year 6 children have had a visit from author Catherine Barr, you can see more information about this later in the Bulletin.

It has been lovely to welcome so many families into school for our termly Show and Share, the children always enjoy showing their  work and classrooms with you.

Thank you to the BPSA for organising the wonderful Magic Shows, these take a lot of organisation but the children had a great time and there has been lots of chatter about how he did it, and whether the rabbit was real! Thank you all for your flexibility and patience with parking and collection this week, it has been a busy one.

I have shared with the children today a “Pupdate” regarding my puppy, which I got to meet last weekend!

Included in this Bulletin is a letter, outlining more details about the plans for his arrival after half term and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Have a wonderful weekend.
