We are delighted to celebrate our Year 6 pupils as they step into their leadership roles with kindness, resilience and courage.
Last Friday, we proudly introduced our Year 6 Leaders and reflected on the qualities that make a great leader. To help inspire the pupils, we discussed Mr Chesworth’s favourite leadership role model: Ted Lasso!
Ted’s famous advice to “be a goldfish” became the key message of the assembly. While it might sound unusual, the phrase carries a powerful lesson. Goldfish are said to have short memories, encouraging us to learn from mistakes, let go of setbacks and move forwards with confidence. As our Year 6 pupils take on new responsibilities, there will be moments when things do not go quite to plan, but great leaders learn, adapt and keep going. When challenges arise, we have no doubt that they will inspire those around them and make a positive difference to our school community.
We are incredibly proud of the maturity, enthusiasm and commitment our Year 6 pupils have already shown. We look forward to seeing them grow in confidence, support their peers and embrace every opportunity that comes their way this year.
