Welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break. I’ve heard lots of exciting stories of adventure and fun. For my part, I was lucky enough to join our school ski trip to France at the beginning of the holidays. It was an amazing week with stunning weather, superb skiing, and genuinely wonderful company. The children were beautifully behaved, showing resilience on the slopes and impeccable manners wherever we went. I was very proud of them. Thank you to Mr Tunnell, Mr Jeens, Mrs Clark, and Miss Law for their hard work and for looking after the children so well.
We are off and running for the final term of the year with so much to look forward to: trips, sports days, productions, concerts, the art exhibition and summer fair…. the list goes on! And of course, at the end of the term we will celebrate and bid a fond farewell to our Year 6 pupils as they come to the end of their BPS journey.
At the beginning of their BPS journey, we welcomed Mrs Crook as our new Deputy Head, and she already feels very much a part of our school community. Here are her thoughts on the first week here:
“I have settled into the routine of life at Banstead, and I am delighted with how I have been made to feel welcome. It speaks volumes about the community spirit that warmth and kindness is not just spoken about, but felt by our newest joiners. Being in Mrs Windett’s class has been amazing for understanding how daily life operates and the range of activities happening around the school, and I am grateful for the children and staff who have shown me ‘the Banstead Way’ this week.”
We look forward to welcoming everyone into school for lots of events over the coming weeks. We are also excited about the opening of our BPSA coffee and uniform shop, ‘Banstead Perk’, next week.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend in the sunshine!
