At Banstead Preparatory School, we’re committed to welcoming every child into our nurturing, inclusive community. Here’s your simple, step-by-step guide to joining us:
1. Explore & Enquire
Connect with our Head of Admissions, Ms Katie Henderson, to talk about your child’s needs and check availability. Complete our online enquiry form, email admissions@bansteadprep.com or call us on 01737 363600.
2. Visit Us
We invite families to visit us in action. Book a school tour with our Head to see classrooms, meet teachers, and watch our children learning and playing. We also host regular Open Days and Stay & Play sessions for our youngest visitors.
3. Register
Once you feel Banstead is the right fit, submit a registration form and pay the £60 (non-refundable) registration fee. Please use your child’s name as the reference when making payment.

Please email a copy of your child’s passport or birth certificate to admissions@bansteadprep.com to complete their application.
4. Taster
Your child will be invited for a Taster, where they can join classes and experience what makes our school special.

Nursery and Pre-School: A one-hour session with their parent present in the early years.

Reception: A few hours in class with children of the same age.

Year 1–6: A full day in school, taking part in lessons and enjoying lunch with peers of the same age.
For children joining in-year in Reception and above, they’ll spend time in the class they would likely join if offered a place.
5. Offer OF A PLACE
After a successful Taster Day, we will send a formal offer. A deposit of £500 is payable on acceptance of a place. The deposit is returned after your child has left the school. If you accept a place and subsequently withdraw acceptance, the school will retain your deposit and may charge a term’s fees in lieu of notice unless a full term’s notice is provided.
