It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school this week and there is a genuine sense of positivity and purpose for the year ahead. The children have managed the return to school routine admirably and the understandable drop-off nerves have very quickly disappeared as soon as they have got into classrooms with their friends and teachers.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our welcome and curriculum evet last night, it was a great opportunity to share with you our plans for the year ahead and have a chance to hear from our subject and senior leaders about our BPS approach, what to expect and how to support. Thank you for the positive feedback and we will review the format for future events to ensure it is a valuable experience for everyone.
Or school community focus this year is to view everything we do “Through the eyes of our children”. We are more committed than ever to cherishing childhood and ensuring our children experience a broad, engaging and relevant education that inspires and challenges everyone, whilst keeping their wellbeing and fun at the heart of everything we do. We remain ambitious for every child and our commitment to progress over perfection will enable all pupils to develop at their own pace, in a safe environment where it is ok to make mistakes. As parents and educators, it is sometimes easy to apply adult perspectives on the challenges and changes that are fundamentally part of growing up. By accepting these inevitable moments, we allow children to learn from their mistakes and create an environment where forgiveness overcomes failure, for all of us.
We look forward to welcoming parents into school next week for our “Show and Share- Visit My Classroom” meet the teacher events. This is a chance to spend time with the class/form teachers and ask any questions about the term and year ahead. To echo my words from last night, thank you all for your continued support of BPS, for all the time and energy you give to our school community and we very much look forward to our exciting 9th year!
Have a lovely weekend.
