I believe education goes beyond examination success; children can only achieve when they feel happy and safe, when they’ve been given the skills to tackle new challenges, the courage to overcome obstacles and the opportunity to succeed. I place no limits on expectations.
Children astound me every day, fuelling my enthusiasm for teaching. I’ve worked in a variety of educational settings; state schools, co-educational and single-sex independent schools in Guilford High School in Surrey and Redcliffe School in Chelsea, as a teacher, subject co-ordinator, Head of Department, Director of Studies, mentor, specialist leader and external auditor – each role has given me a unique insight into teaching practices and shown me how young children grow and learn.
Having completed my first degree in Accounting, I started working life in Corporate Tax at Andersen and then Deloitte & Touche after the merger. This allows me to bring a unique skillset to school life and make the most of available opportunities to improve our facilities and develop the school community. I moved into teaching in 2003 and have never looked back, completing a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management in 2013. In these rapidly evolving, increasingly global times, I am excited to be involved in education and have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of establishing Banstead Prep as a leading prep school in the area.
We’re a forward-thinking school with a talented and experienced staff team and the facilities to enable the broadest of opportunities as part of an engaging, innovative and exciting curriculum
We want our children to look back on their time at Banstead Prep as happy, varied, inspiring and above all exciting. There’s more to a good education than learning.
It goes without saying that Banstead Prep School has high academic expectations, but our curriculum goes far beyond what most prep schools are able to offer. Our exceptional facilities, dedicated staff and specialist subject teachers enable us to go above and beyond, to consistently offer our children that little bit more. We want exceeding your expectations to be the norm.
