From what age can my child attend nursery?
We will welcome your child to Banstead Prep Nursery from the beginning of the half term after their second birthday, depending on your preference and subject to availability. Providing they are already two years old, your child may join mid-way through the year; you will not have to wait until the beginning of the academic year in September.
What are the Nursery session times at Banstead Prep?
We offer the following nursery sessions:
Mornings Only: 8:00am – 12:00pm
Mornings including lunch: 8:00am - 1:00pm
Full Day: 8:00am – 3.00pm
Can I drop off and collect at any time during my selected session?
We do not offer part mornings or part days as we feel educationally and operationally these are not in the best interests of the children. However, we understand that the morning drop-off can be a logistical challenge for working parents and those with more than one child, so, in line with the rest of the school, nursery children may be dropped off any time between 8.00 - 8.30am. Should you need to collect your child earlier on any day you will be able to do so by letting us know in advance.
Can Nursery pupils use Breakfast and After School club? Is there a charge for this?
Nursery pupils may be dropped at Breakfast Club from 7.30am and they may attend After School Club until 6.00pm. Breakfast Club, and After School care is chargeable as detailed in the fees below. If attending for a whole day 8.00am – 3.00pm, Nursery pupils with older siblings within the school, may stay in After School Club free of charge until 4.00pm if you wish to collect them at the same time.
Do I have to send my child every day?
No, nursery provision is flexible, subject to the availability of places for your chosen sessions. Parents may choose to start with a few mornings and increase to every day, or use the nursery for a number of full days per week, whatever is right for you and your family. It is beneficial for the children to attend for some mornings or full days on several days of the week prior to moving into the Reception class.
Is the Nursery term time only, or is it available in the holidays too?
The Nursery is term time only; however, the provision of Nursery care during the school holidays is something that we are considering for the future. If this would be of interest to you, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Is lunch included?
Lunch is provided for children attending for a Full Day session and is included in the Full Day session fees.
What do I need to do to reserve a place?
You can register your child for nursery by completing the online form at www.bansteadprep.com/register
Can I use the Early Years Free Entitlement (EYFE)?
Pupils from the age of three until the first term after their fifth birthday are eligible to receive up to 15 hours of Early Years Free Entitlement (EYFE) within the sessions attended.
EYFE is available for six terms, from the term following your child's third birthday until the term when they turn five, so the funding will continue to be available in your child’s Reception year, to the end of the term in which their fifth birthday falls. Funding is not available beyond the Reception year. To enable the school to claim the EYFE funding, a Parental Declaration Form will need to be completed and signed. The document will be provided by the school.
Can I use Childcare Vouchers?
We are able to accept Childcare Vouchers for Nursery Fees and for before and after school care.
Can I claim 15 hours EYFE and pay with childcare vouchers?
Can I claim EYFE even if my child doesn’t attend a full day?
Yes, you can claim up to 3 hours of EYFE per day, as part of either a Morning or a Full Day session.
Can I claim EYFE for more than one child?
Are any other discounts available?
If you have more than one child attending Banstead Prep School at the same time, the second child will receive a 5% discount on tuition fees, and the third, and any subsequent children will receive a 10% discount.
How can I pay fees?
Fees are payable by direct debit, either monthly or termly, at the beginning of each term. If you choose to pay some or all of your fees using Childcare Vouchers you will receive details of how the scheme works once you have accepted your place. Any additional charges, over and above that covered by Childcare Vouchers, will be collected by direct debit.
