Celebrations for the Royal Wedding started early at Banstead Prep School on Friday, with a day of festivities for children and staff bringing traditional British values to life.

Morning assembly started with a dramatic pre-enactment of Harry and Meghan’s fairy tale day complete with Her Majesty the Queen in attendance with the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince William as best man.  Amidst the public speculation about who would walk Meghan Markle down the aisle, BPS provided the perfect solution as ‘Meghan’s' real life son gave her away.

Once the formalities were over, the party got underway with a parade through the grounds of the school, including a Royal carriage, marching Reception soldiers, Year 2 wedding guests representing the Commonwealth and a party of Year 6 bowler-hatted English gentlemen.    Finally, the whole school gathered for a Royal garden party in the sunshine and enjoyed Harry & Meghan cupcakes.
