Food and nutrition

At Banstead Prep School, we are committed to providing our pupils with a balanced choice of food which is both nutritious and tasty. Our on site catering team prepare meat and vegetarian options, plus side vegetables and a delicious pudding every day. Additionally, pupils can choose to have salad from the salad bar, jacket potatoes, freshly cut fruit and homemade yoghurt with fruit compote.

We encourage our pupils to maintain a healthy diet, eat balanced meals and try new foods.  There will always be members of staff on hand to help children while they are choosing and eating their meals. We routinely cater for halal, gluten and dairy free diets and are a nut-free school.  If your child suffers from any allergies or has any dietary requirements, please do let us know.

We provide a homemade biscuit snack for all of the children at morning break, and encourage them to bring fresh fruit or vegetables. In our Early Years classes we ask parents to provide weekly fruit contributions and the children sit down together to share at snacktime, which also encourages them to try new foods.
