A limited number of bursary awards are available to pupils entering the school at Year 3 who would benefit from the education Banstead Prep School has to offer but who would otherwise be unable to afford a place. These awards include our Bramley Awards, made available via the charitable legacy of Bramley School. Bursary awards are means tested and are awarded at the discretion of the Headteacher and Local Governing Body.
A small number of Talent Awards may be granted to children entering Year 3 who demonstrate exceptional aptitude and potential in Music, Art, Drama, Sport or Academic ability, or a combination of these disciplines. The awards are provided to enable pupils to pursue their talent by enabling parents to arrange individual tuition, coaching, club membership or educational resources or experiences that facilitate development of their abilities.
Academic awards will be determined by Maths and English tests taken in January of the year of entry. Assessment for other awards is through evidence of previous achievement and evaluation of potential through an audition and/or interview with the head of department.
Application process and dates
To register for a place in Year 3 2018, please complete the online registration form.
Applicants will be invited to a taster day at BPS and participate in lessons with our current Year 2 cohort so that we can assess whether BPS can provide a suitable environment for your child. We will also request a report from the Head of your child’s current school. Subject to satisfactory completion of the taster day and availability of a place, an offer of a place will be made.
