United Learning is very pleased to announce that, following an extensive recruitment exercise that attracted many high-quality candidates, we have appointed Mr Jonathan Chesworth as Headteacher of Banstead Prep School.
Mr Chesworth is currently Deputy Head of Thomas’s Clapham. Prior to this he was Head of Games, Physical Education and PHSE at King’s College Junior School, Wimbledon. Jonathan and his wife, Christina, have two boys aged 8 and 5. Throughout this process, we were impressed by Mr Chesworth’s ambition for the school and his experience across a wide range of issues pertinent to the role of Head including teaching and learning, safeguarding, co-curricular engagement and pupil wellbeing.
A keen sportsman and supporter of the arts, Mr Chesworth studied at University College of St John and St Mark, Plymouth before early careers in Events Management and Recruitment. Now, as a highly experienced Deputy Head, he is very much looking forward to taking up his appointment in January 2021.
During the Autumn term, Mr Chesworth is hoping to meet children, staff, and parents across the school. We are grateful that Mr Gibb will be remaining as Interim Headteacher until Christmas and will be liaising closely with Mr Chesworth to ensure a seamless transition.
