John Abbott, Deputy Head

John is Deputy Head of Priory Preparatory School and is passionate about Prep school education, pupil welfare and working alongside other dedicated teachers. Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school, pastoral care and leading on the ISI Inspection preparation, he also has a wealth of experience in the classroom, primarily with KS2 in preparation for 11+ examinations. In March, John will complete his training as an ISI Team Inspector.

Sarah Nunn, Head of Pre-Prep

Sarah is Head of Early Years and Head of Assessment and Data at Bramley School. She is keen to enrich learning and recently introduced highly successful ‘Welly Walks’ into the Early Years curriculum to enhance hands-on positive experiences within the wider community. Sarah has taught all age groups at primary level all and has specialised in maths; currently, she leads Gifted and Talented sessions for the most able mathematicians in Year 6. Sarah has led Early Years ISI Inspection preparation and helped secure an excellent inspection at Bramley in 2016. Sarah has also completed the London Marathon and the Prudential Ride 100.

Jason Ford, Assistant Head (Academic)

Currently Director of Studies at Priory Preparatory School, Jason has experience in all areas of teaching and learning, both in academics and sport, with vast experience of teaching English for 11+ preparation. As a key member of the SLT, Jason has also taken responsibility in key areas such as Senior School transition, monitoring pupil progress and inspection preparation. He is currently completing a dissertation for his MA in Educational Leadership and Management and plays rugby and cricket for local clubs.

Julie Windett, Assistant Head (Pastoral)

Julie is currently Head of the Junior Department and a Year 3 class teacher at Greenacre School, so she has significant experience in leadership and management in a prep setting. Julie supports with embedding the aims and ethos of the school and is passionate about ensuring the academic and pastoral needs of pupils are catered for. Julie has a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education and PE and a Diploma of Higher Education in Art. An ex-international sportswoman, Julie understands the importance of creating great teams.

Hilary Russell, Business Manager

Hilary is a qualified Chartered Accountant with previous experience as Group Financial Controller of Telegraph Publishing Group. Hilary became Bursar of Priory Preparatory School in 2011 following a career break to raise her two children.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the varied challenges of supporting the successful running of a prep school for the past six years and am now excited by the many new challenges that Banstead Prep will bring.”
