At Banstead Prep School, pupils will benefit from class sizes that are small enough for individual attention but large enough for friendship groups to thrive and team learning to be encouraged. Pre-prep pupils will have a class teacher and teaching assistant with specialist teaching in music, PE, dance, swimming, modern foreign languages and drama.

Prep pupils will be supported by Form Tutors, with some specialist teaching in Year 3 and a fully developed specialist subject teaching programme in Years 4–6. Core subjects, where appropriate, will be split by ability, allowing each child to learn at a pace which is suitable to their needs and to allow for individual support.

For the current cohort joining into Year 5 and Year 6, boys and girls will be taught separately for some subjects where it is felt appropriate, until the natural progression to their Senior School.
